Distinguishing benign notochordal cell tumor from chordoma with imaging and histopathological findings is critical because of prognosis and treatment differences.

Case Report: A 52-year-old female patient who complained of low back pain was systemically examined with malignancy suspicion. On the tomography, the lomber 2 vertebral corpus showed intramedullary lesion, smooth border, without cortical destruction, and no soft tissue component. The patient was performed needle biopsy with CT guidance. In this case, the biopsy was compatible with benign notochordal cell tumor.

Result: In this case report, it is desirable to emphasize the importance of distinguishing between chordoma and benign notochordal cell tumor in order to prevent unnecessary treatment. Anahtar Kelimeler : Benign notochordal cell tumor, Chordoma, Differential diagnosis
